Meet the Founder

kurt-krakeKurt Krake, President

Kurt Krake is the founder of Search-Werks, a niche internet marketing consulting practice specializing in search engine marketing, web analytics, and outsourced eCommerce management for the middle and smaller market.

With large brand eCommerce marketing leadership positions at Sara Lee Direct (now known as Hanesbrands Inc.) and PetSmart, he brings extensive online retail experience and comprehensive knowledge of multiple online marketing channels including SEM/SEO marketing, affiliate marketing, CRM acquisition and retention, as well as an extensive background in web analytics. Kurt also holds a position on the advisory board of Bazaarvoice, a leader in social commerce.

Kurt is a Coopers & Lybrand/PriceWaterhouseCoopers alumni where he began his career in public accounting and developed the strategic and financial background that drives his entrepreneurial focus today. Kurt earned an MBA from the Babcock Graduate School of Management at Wake Forest University and also holds a BS in Accounting from Wake Forest.

Carissa Vivirito is in charge of Search-Werks' client management. She ensures all client needs are met from strategy, through execution and reporting.

With over 12 years of experience, Carissa has worked in nearly every role in the Internet industry from interface design to information architecture, programming, marketing strategy and execution. Her breadth of experience, attention to detail, project management and client relationship skills are integral to our clients' success. She has spent time on both the client and agency sides of the online industry lending her a broad understanding of how to apply best practices within an organization. Carissa most recently lead internet operations at the Arizona Humane Society prior to joining Search-Werks full time in early 2010.

Carissa earned a BFA in Communication Design from Carnegie Mellon University and published an industry-acclaimed book You Can't Get There From Here in 2007.

Chris Weaver is a Strategic Search Analyst, specializing in search management and social advertising With the rest of the Search-Werks team, Chris manages our client relationships to ensure optimum results.

Chris has over 6 years of Agency experience, 4 years in the Interactive space. He has held multiple roles within the industry including account and project management, creation & implementation of marketing strategies, and Pay Per Click & Search Engine Optimization execution.

He is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Arizona State University's WP Carey School of Business. While unplugged from the internet, Chris is an avid outdoors man, skiing & playing soccer whenever he gets a chance. He also works with the nonprofit organization Little Feet helping donate soccer balls to children in third world countries.
